ACHIEVEMENTS

  * Competed in Panorama - the UK National Steel Band Championships - 5 times - highest placing 1st (2003)

  * Performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Royal Northern College of Music and Elland Road Stadium

  * Chosen to perform at the 100th Anniversary Concert for the Labour Party at the Old Vic Theatre and presented to ex Prime Minster Tony Blair

  * Performed live on BBC TV’s Blue Peter

  * Represented the City of Leeds in Dortmund, Germany and Borough of Kirklees in Besancon, France

  * Performed with Huddersfield Choral Society, Honley Male Voice Choir, Gledholt Male Voice Choir and in the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival

  * Made a British Council-sponsored visit to the Trinidad Carnival

  * Chosen by the Arts Council of England to record for a Best of British Steel Bands CD Fire and Steel

  * Granted Musicians in Residence status by Yorkshire Arts

  * Established an educational residency with Kirklees School of Music plus adult education classes and courses in several Kirklees schools – we teach over 170 pupils a week in the Kirklees area.

  * Most recently toured with Trombonist Dennis Rollins and UK Steel Pan Soloist of 2004 Samuel Dubois as part of a year long jazz tour throughout the UK.

  * Twice perfomed at the infamous Marsden Jazz Festival with Harry Beckett in 2001 and as a band in our own right.
