Workshops

We have been teaching steel pan to adults and children since 1975 and we never tire of it. The diagram below explains our approach to workshops.

Depending upon the age and experience of the pupil, we can offer a wide range of introductory and supplementary activities to enhance understanding and appreciation – but the heart of our workshop is helping people to develop a comfortable facility and a good technique with the pan through playing, playing and playing.

In general we offer four types of workshop:

  * One-off taster sessions (eg for schools who are unsure whether to invest in

  a set of pans)

  * Regular sessions for beginners or established groups (eg for schools who

  already have a set of pans)

  * Masterclasses for experienced players or teachers

  * Strategic planning (eg we have advised local education authorities on

  introducing pan music into the curriculum across all their schools)
